Julius Soriano is passionate about purpose and values driving culture and business results with over 20 years of experience in HR and Finance, leading engaged purposeful teams. He believes that human connection is the true driver of systems and organizations, and when you find the right connection, it is magic.
Julius started his career in public accounting in the audit practice where he obtained his CPA with Deloitte gaining valuable experience in review and audit of financial statements, operations, and internal controls, servicing consumer clients including Safeway, Williams-Sonoma, bebe, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, and C&H Sugar.
After leaving Deloitte, Julius spent the next 15 years of his career at 24 Hour Fitness, starting out in finance, implementing Sarbanes Oxley, leading payroll, accounts payable, cash management teams, and was instrumental in leading labor management, analysis and compliance projects. The work with labor compliance eventually paved the way to his role as VP of HR, where he lead the HRIS, Benefits, Compensation, Learning and Development, and HR compliance strategy and initiatives.
Julius left 24 Hour Fitness to consult, became SHRMS-SCP certified and started Apto Connection to guide organizations to achieve their goals and strategy through a profound connection to passion, values, and culture. He most recently took on a full-time role with one of his clients Topa Equities a private equity company with over 25 subsidiaries, driving HR and Payroll initiatives.
A native of the Bay Area, Julius obtained his bachelor’s degree in business at the University of San Francisco and currently lives in San Marcos with his wife Emmylou, three children Erin, Emily, and Jacob and two dogs Romeo and Charlie. When he is not practicing his highest value of experiencing magical moments with his family, Julius can be found coaching youth sports, doing volunteer work for youth organizations, working out, playing golf, and hanging out at the beach.
